Stole Dimitrievski gave his assessment of the 3-1 win over FC Barcelona at Mestalla following the final whistle.
The final position
“It’s a shame. We fought until the very end. We've beaten Barça, but we didn’t qualify for Europe because of other results. We’re sad because of that, and also because of Diego’s injury. It's all about getting back up and trying again.”
A good game against FC Barcelona
“We had agood game. We worked hard, fought hard, and attacked. It’s a shame it wasn’tenough to qualify for Europe, because that’s what the fans deserve.”
Finding consistency
“Teams that qualify for European competitions perform consistently throughout the season. Our second half of the season has been very good, but we need to improve on the first half to find a balance and finish in the European positions.”
His performance
“This second half of the season has seen my best performances in LaLiga. That's thanks to Marcos, the goalkeeping coach, because we've worked very hard at all times, even when it was difficult. He pushed me to improve. We've delivered great performances, as this fanbase deserve, and earned points thanks to saves.”
Mestalla
“Mestalla is an historic stadium. I was always very impressed with it when I played therefor other teams. Playing at Mestalla for the home team is incredible. It’s very special. Let’s hope the club have many victories at the Nou Mestalla, as the fans deserve it.”
